Background

Belizean software engineer and AI systems professional with international graduate research experience in smart mobility, transportation simulation, dispatch algorithms, and infrastructure reliability. I build backend systems, robotics control software, business operations applications, and data-driven research platforms.

Experience

Graduate Researcher — Smart Mobility, Simulation & Algorithms

Korea National University of Transportation · South Korea · Feb 2024 – 2026

  • Designed a scalable Demand Responsive Transit simulation platform for evaluating dispatch, routing, and passenger-matching strategies under real-world service constraints.
  • Built event-driven architecture with vehicle/passenger lifecycle management, schedulers, orchestrators, routing modules, and metric extraction pipelines.
  • Integrated MLflow and Ray for reproducible experiment tracking, distributed parameter sweeps, and scalable research workflows.

Software Engineer & Solution Architect

Adaviv (MIT Spinoff) · Remote · Feb 2022 – Feb 2024

  • Designed Flask-based backend control systems for Mantis, a crop-scanning robot using RGB and thermal imaging for agricultural monitoring.
  • Built state-driven workflows for robotic camera manipulation, image capture, real-time streaming, structured logging, and system recovery.
  • Optimized backend workflows, reducing system latency by ~30% and improving Mantis uptime in production.

Selected Work

Business Technology

Mayawalk Staff Management Application

Belize-based tour company operations · React Native, Firebase, TypeScript

Digitized staff scheduling, check-in, shift assignment, and payroll support — reducing accounting errors by approximately 40%.

Infrastructure Research

Platform Screen Door Reliability Research

KORAIL dataset analysis · Python, Reliability Analysis, Monte Carlo Simulation

Analyzed 10,078 failures across 279 stations to model maintenance strategies and compare long-term cost, safety, and availability outcomes.

How I Work

I build for operational reality — schedulers, state machines, recovery paths, and metrics that reflect how systems behave under load, not just in demos.

Reproducibility matters. Whether it's MLflow experiment tracking for transit research or structured logging on a production robot, you should be able to trust what the data says.

Automation should reduce manual work without hiding the logic. I favor clear architectures, typed interfaces, and systems simple enough to debug when something breaks at 2 a.m.

The Journey

Building a technology career from Belize has meant being resourceful and globally connected — graduate research in South Korea, remote engineering for a U.S. MIT spinoff, and hands-on operations software for local businesses at home.

I'm focused on proving that world-class engineering and AI adoption can happen from anywhere, especially where digital transformation has the most room to create impact.
